I am just another person walking down the corridor. The floor tiles are wide. It takes me three strides to make it from one tile to the next. The people next to me are a blur. They walk quickly on their way to their designated office space. No one wants […]

[Current Song // Pretty Girls Make Graves - More Sweet Soul]
My 10-12 page history essay was due back on Monday, but I’m so uninspired with it. I have some ideas in an outline, but I don’t have a thesis joining them. The research is going terribly.
I don’t know why I decided to choose history for my degree minor. I’m pretty terrible at it! History papers are so different from an English studies paper. I’ve actually cried several times when trying to pull this paper together because it seems so fruitless.
I’ve been thinking about spending an extra two months in North Bay in order to take an extra 3 credit history course, leaving me with one less to do later. I need to have 24 credits of history for my degree, and I just have to be enrolled in one history course each semester left in my career. But, if I stay for the spring session instead of going home to visit my family during that time, I could have full semester without taking a history class. History is always hardest for me…
I’m seriously thinking about it, but I think my parents will be sad that I want to exchange two months of vacation time where I could visit them in order to do just one class during spring session. I think it would be a great experience, because I’d only have nine hours of class each week, and for the remaining time, I could work full time on my sites and art and hopefully increase my income from the level it is now.
It just might be lonely. My roommate would be gone. =(

[Current Song // The Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Pin (Live Version)]
My scholastic work ethic is sometimes questionable. I’m a sucker for procrastination, easily distracted by personal projects, and waste time. I really did it this time. I decided to take art classes as my electives this year, one per semester. We have a sketchbook in which we’re supposed to complete two assignments per week. I was doing really well for the first few weeks, but I grew lazy. Each week I kept telling myself that I didn’t have time this week and would do them later. I accumulated four weeks of backlog.
It wouldn’t be too bad except that I’m an extremely slow artist. My teacher says if we are spending more than an hour on each assignment, we are spending too much time. She said we can stop after one hour if it happens. I’m too scared to do that because if I don’t finish it, it looks terrible and I’ll get a bad mark. Just because I spent an hour on something doesn’t mean that it would look like I spent an hour on it to a critic. Eek. I stayed up until 4am working on Friday, and I worked a fair bit on them Saturday afternoon. I did manage to finish all eight pieces, and a few of them I’m actually quite proud of. Yay!
The next two weeks are going to be fiendishly mean to me. There are so many essays to write and so many novels to read.
- History papers x 2
- Three English papers x 3
- Exams x 3
- Art Portfolio
I’m really happy that all of my exams are in class rather than during the exam schedule. I get to go home directly after my last class in December. I’m counting down the days!
